Auricular Acupuncture and Vagal Regulation. Citation: (Zhang, 2012)
Auricular stimulation has been applied for medical treatment for thousands of years, and became popularized on the developments of Dr. Paul Nogier, the “father” of auriculotherapy and auriculomedicine. In the present study, the relationship between the auricular acupuncture and the vagal regulation has been reviewed. It is shown that auricular acupuncture plays a role in vagal activity of autonomic functions of cardiovascular, respiratory, and gastrointestinal systems. Mechanism studies sugge...
Ear acupuncture in the treatment of migraine attacks: a randomized trial on the efficacy of appropriate versus inappropriate acupoints. Citation: (Allais, 2011)
The randomized controlled trial from this study show that ear acupuncture can be a useful treatment approach to control migraine pain. It has been shown that active points on the ear — those as described as being tender by the patient when probed, a technique also known as Needle Contact Test (NCT) — identify the most efficacious ear acu- or stimulation-points to support the condition (e.g. migraine). From the randomized controlled trial completed by Allais, Romoli, Rolando et. al. you can le...
Adjuvant auricular electroacupuncture and autogenic training in rheumatoid arthritis: a randomized controlled trial. Auricular acupuncture and autogenic training in rheumatoid arthritis. Citation: (Bernateck 2008)
The authors of this study note that in contrast to psychological interventions the usefulness of acupuncture as an adjuvant therapy in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) has not yet been demonstrated. The objective of this study is to directly compare the efficacy of auricular electroacupuncture (EA) with autogenic training (AT). A clinically meaningful and statistically significant improvement (p < 0.05) could be observed in all outcome parameters and both groups. In contrast to the AT group, the ...
Frequencies with Consequences: A Pilot Study of the Insulin Frequency, 3323 Hz. Citation: (Wirz, 2008)
Summary: Blood-sugar levels were assessed before and after 200 applications of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) in 32 patients. The results were as follows: An average decrease of 1.54 mmol/lt in 70.5%; an average increase of 0.82 mmol/lt in 28%; and unchanged results in 1.5%. Longterm sugar HbA1c was reduced by an average of 1.23%. The most efficient application of LLLT was with the red intravascular laser using a frequency setting of 3323 Hz, the insulin frequency. Further studies are necessa...
Microsystems Acupuncture Today. Citation: (Gleditsch 2005, XIII)
Micosystems of the human body are used in various areas of healthcare and wellness practice from acupuncture to reflexology — with traditions of use well before the developments in modern medicine. Microsystems, as respective to acupuncture specifically, have helped expand the field of acupuncture from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to a variety of methods now practiced worldwide with the use of needles, pressure, Low Level Laser, and electro-stimulation.
Microsystems are based on the ...
Toward an Integral Energy Medicine Model for Understanding the Vascular Autonomic Signal. Citation: (Agnes 2002)
The Vascular Autonomic Signal (VAS) is a physiological response of the neurovascular system of the body to information being brought into its energy field. This response is palpated on the wall of the radial artery. The discovery of the VAS by Dr. Paul Nogier in 1966 brought an energetic diagnostic tool to the world. Muriel Agnes, founder of the Canadian Institute of Auricular Medicine (CIAM), studied the VAS to explore mechanisms for understanding the VAS.
The studies include a clinical demo...
Auricular Acupuncture Stimulation Measured on Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Med Acupunct. Citation: (Alimi 2002, 18-21)
David Alimi at Neurosciences Society used Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) to demonstrate the direct relationship of auricular reflex zones (acupuncture points on the ear) to corresponding points on the body. Request the full paper on ResearchGate

Analgesic Effects of Auricular Acupuncture for Cancer Pain. Citation: (Alimi 2000)
Owing to the fact that analgesic drugs do not always offer adequate pain relief, cancer pain is a difficult problem for clinicians. For over 30 years, auricular acupuncture has been used in pain treatment, and recently has been used for complementary treatment in cancer pain. The authors report results from auricular treatment in a series of 20 patients with cancer pain. Read published research.

Rapid narcotic detoxification in chronic pain patients treated with auricular electroacupuncture and naloxone. Citation: (Kroening 1985, 1347-1360)
In a research study published by Kroening and Oleson, the application of a rapid detoxification procedure for narcotics was provided to 14 chronic pain patients to support withdrawal from opiate pain medications — and help reduce or avoid the severe withdrawal signs which accompany detoxification in chronic pain patients taking high levels of analgesic medications. After first switching all patients to oral methadone, each patient received bilateral electrical stimulation to needles inserted ...
